Terms & Conditions
Last updated 26 February 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Links (the “App”). The App is owned and operated by LINKS SOCIAL UK LTD (“Links”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. What the App does
Links is a messenger app that lets users communicate and create events with friends and friends-of-friends. We may provide AI-powered suggestions (for example, event ideas, prompts, or recommendations) to help users plan and participate.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the App (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, if higher).
- You must provide accurate information and keep your account information up to date.
- You must not be prohibited from using the App under applicable laws.
4. Account registration and security
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity on your account.
- You agree not to share your account or impersonate others.
- We may require verification steps where reasonably necessary for security, integrity, or legal compliance.
5. Community rules (Code of Conduct)
To keep the App safe and usable, you agree that you will not:
- Harass, threaten, bully, stalk, or discriminate against others.
- Post or send illegal, harmful, or objectionable content, including violent/gory content, sexual exploitation, child sexual content, or content encouraging self-harm.
- Use the App for spam, scams, phishing, or fraudulent activity.
- Solicit or promote illegal goods/services, or facilitate criminal activity.
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you do not have permission to access.
- Reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, or interfere with the App’s operation or security.
- Use the App in a way that violates the rights of others, including privacy and intellectual property rights.
Users can block and report other users. We may investigate and take action at our discretion, including removing content, limiting features, suspending, or terminating accounts.
6. Events and user responsibilities
Users may create, share, and join events. You are responsible for your conduct and safety and for any arrangements you make with others. Links is not an events venue and does not control real-world interactions.
- Event accuracy: If you create an event, you must ensure the details you publish are accurate, lawful, and do not mislead others.
- Respect and safety: Behave responsibly. Use common sense and meet in safe environments. Avoid sharing sensitive personal information unnecessarily.
- Friends / friends-of-friends: Some events may be visible to or discoverable by friends-of-friends depending on your settings and the feature design. You are responsible for the audience you choose when posting or inviting.
7. Paid events, ticketing, and platform fees
The App may allow event creators (“Creators” or “Organisers”) to sell tickets to events. We facilitate ticketing and payments through Stripe (including Stripe Connect). We may charge a commission or platform fee on tickets sold. Any fees, commission rates, and applicable taxes will be shown in the App at the time of set-up or purchase.
7.1 Stripe and payment processing
- Payments are processed by Stripe. By buying tickets or connecting a payout account, you also agree to any applicable Stripe terms and policies.
- We do not store full payment card details or bank account details used for Stripe payouts. Stripe handles that information.
- We may store limited transaction metadata (e.g. ticket status, timestamps, event identifiers, Stripe references) to operate the service, provide support, and comply with accounting/legal obligations.
7.2 Creator payouts (including multiple owners)
Where supported, Creators may allocate ownership/splits among multiple owners. Payouts are subject to Stripe’s requirements, verification/KYC checks, and our fraud and compliance controls. Payout timing can vary due to processing, verification, dispute/chargeback handling, and platform risk review.
7.3 Disconnecting Stripe before payout (Creator responsibility)
If you are a Creator and you disconnect, delete, or deactivate your Stripe Connect account before outstanding funds have been paid out, Stripe may be unable to complete your payout.
In such cases, it is your responsibility to contact us at linksapp.contact@gmail.com and provide alternative payout details. We may request bank details and reasonable verification information to ensure funds are paid to the rightful owner(s), and we may delay payment where required for fraud prevention or legal compliance. We are not responsible for delays or losses caused by your failure to maintain an active Stripe payout account or to provide accurate payout details.
7.4 Refunds, cancellations, disputes, and chargebacks
- Event changes/cancellations: Creators are responsible for delivering the event and communicating changes or cancellations to attendees.
- Refunds: Unless the App states otherwise for a specific event, refunds (if any) are governed by the event’s stated policy and applicable consumer law. We may assist with refunds processed through Stripe where appropriate.
- Disputes/chargebacks: Ticket purchases may be subject to payment disputes/chargebacks. We may withhold or reverse payouts where necessary to cover disputes, refunds, chargebacks, or suspected fraud.
8. AI-powered suggestions
The App may provide AI-powered suggestions and assistance. Suggestions are provided “as is” and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate in some contexts. You are responsible for verifying event details, messages, and decisions you make based on suggestions.
9. User content and permissions
“User Content” includes messages, event details, images, and other material you upload or submit. You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant Links a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your User Content solely for the purpose of operating, improving, and providing the App (including safety, moderation, and support).
You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to post your User Content and that it does not violate any law or third-party rights.
10. Reporting, blocking, and moderation
- Users may report and block other users. Blocking limits interactions as implemented in the App.
- We may remove content or restrict accounts to enforce these Terms, protect users, comply with law, or maintain platform integrity.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts with or without notice where we reasonably believe there is a risk to users, the platform, or legal compliance.
11. Data protection and privacy
Your use of the App is subject to our Privacy Policy. We store and process data using Google Firebase. If you choose to sync contacts, you consent to the collection and use of those contacts for friend-finding features, as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may retain certain records (including historical events and paid ticket records) even after account deletion for legitimate purposes such as accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and maintaining event history.
12. Third-party services
The App may rely on third-party services (including Firebase/Google Cloud and Stripe). We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies.
13. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Links facilitates messaging, event organisation, and ticketing features but does not control user behaviour or the real-world delivery of events. You agree that your interactions with other users and attendance at events are at your own risk.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation). Subject to that, Links will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of goodwill, and our total liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LINKS SOCIAL UK LTD and its affiliates from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the App, or your infringement of any rights of another person.
15. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at our discretion in line with these Terms, including for safety, misuse, or legal compliance. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including payment, indemnity, and limitation of liability) will survive.
16. Changes to the App or these Terms
We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. We will post updated Terms on this page and may notify you in-app where appropriate. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
17. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
18. Contact us
If you have questions about these Terms, contact us at linksapp.contact@gmail.com.
Note: These Terms are intended to be read alongside the Privacy Policy. If you sell tickets as a Creator, you are responsible for complying with applicable laws (including consumer and tax rules) in your jurisdiction.
